Zverev on Lehechkov: He is an excellent player! He’s going to move into the elite 20, if not 12, by the end of the year

The tournament in Dubai did not go well for Jiri Lehecek. He met Alexander Zverev in the first round, but lost 1:2 after sets. The former world number three praised him after the match and mentioned his future.
Jiří Lehečka is currently the best Czech tennis player. At the age of twenty-one he is gradually making his way to the elite, which he confirmed at the Australian Open.
There he reached the quarterfinals, and in Doha last week he even reached the semifinals, where he eventually lost to Andy Murray, even though he had several match balls at his disposal.
But in the end he had to accept defeat and then moved on to Dubai where he faced a tough opponent in the first round, Alexander Zverev.
Although the former world number three lost the first set, she improved her game after that and defeated Lehecka 2: 1 in sets. Zverev praised his opponent afterwards.
“Jiri is playing fantastic. Last week he reached the semi-finals in Doha, before that he reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open and beat world-class players. He could have easily won the tournament.
I think he is an excellent player and even though he is still only in the top 50, even my coach said he expects him to be in the elite 12 or at least in the top 20 by the end of the year,” said the German tennis player immediately after the match.
Lehecek was supported in Dubai by former Czech tennis player Tomas Berdych, who was often the focus of the cameras.
