Slavia took a two-goal lead against Zorya Luhansk in the first leg of the fourth round of the Europa League, but must confirm it in the return leg. What to bet on?
Slavia have to claw their way into the Europa League through the Ukrainian teams. They beat Dnipro-1 3-0 at home in the third round and drew 1-1 in the return leg.
They wanted to take the same result from Eden to the rematch, but it didn’t work out for a long time. The Sešiovans were throwing away chances like on a treadmill and until the 80th minute the score was still 0:0.
Muhamed Tijani came on, headed the ball in after a corner kick by Ševčík and secured the lead. In stoppage time, Lukas Masopust added a very important goal, fed by Boluwatife Ogungbayi.
Neither team, however, scored fully in the domestic competition at the weekend. Slavia only drew 1-1 in Jablonec, missing a penalty and having two goals taken away by VAR.
Zorya also drew and Serbian coach Nenad Lalatovic offered his resignation after the match. The team would be led by an assistant until the duel with Slavia.
In the first match we saw how Zorya relies on solid defense. They were hardly out of it in the first half, but in the second half they were just a bit more active.
This time it will be Slavia who won’t want to open up the defence so much thanks to the lead. It can be expected that they will want to use their experienced performance to secure promotion and not to score, which would make the match more dramatic.
Betting tip | Number of goals in the match – less than 3.0 at odds of 1.77
