Mojmír Chytil scored a hat-trick on his debut, but he wasn’t the only Sigma player to make his debut for the national team in Olomouc.
Apart from the experienced Jan Navrátil, the second half saw the young back Ondřej Zmrzlý, whose name has been increasingly linked with a transfer to one of the leading league teams in recent months.
“It’s a dream come true, even at home stadium, I really enjoyed it. Really beautiful and indescribable,” Zmrzlý said in an interview for the national team’s YouTube channel.
The Czechs won the game without any minor problems, after a hat-trick by Chytil, Václav Černý and stopper Patrizio Stronati also scored and the result can be said to perfectly describe the action on the pitch.
“The boys practically decided it in the first half and Mojmir excelled. I’m very happy for him, especially since we’ve known each other since we were kids. We wanted to add more goals, but we couldn’t do that.
Still, we won the second half, which I’m glad for. As well as for the fact that I enjoyed the celebration on the pitch,” he added.
But the national team reunion is not over yet. The Czechs will move on to Turkey where they will play another friendly match. The opponent should be more challenging, but there is one question mark.
The Faroe Islands managed to beat the Turks in their last competitive match. At that time, however, coach Stefan Kuntz’s charges were already assured of promotion from the Nations League.
