With the new management and the F::NL license, Viktoria Žižkov will face the 2021/22 season. Everything also had to be approved by the Prague 3 municipality, with whom the lease of the stadium in Seifert Street was negotiated.
Viktoria Žižkov is one of the most traditional Czech teams, as it was founded in 1903 under the name SK Viktoria. However, last season the team was hit by one bad news after another.
It was clear from the beginning that Viktoria had to move to the asylum in Prosek, where they ended up playing the whole season. And she did not do badly at all.
The team, led by David Oulehla and Daniel Vesely, eventually climbed to a solid 4th place, finishing 3rd behind 3. Prostejov was only one point behind.
True, the advancing Hradec Králové got 16 points more in the final, but still, thanks to the circumstances, the season can be considered a success.
And fortunately everything started to turn for the better. Already on 3.6. the first information appeared that the Council of Prague 3 approved the intention to rent the stadium in Seifertova street.
This contract should include a 30-year lease of the stadium, which could calm and secure Žižkov for a while.
The new season, in which 16 teams will play again, will include a team that has two Czech Cups from 1994 and 2001 and the Czechoslovakian champion title from 1928.
And we will see if they can fight for promotion to the top competition and fight for the top ranks again.
