Filip Zadina scored his first goal for the San Jose Sharks against the reigning champions! Fans at the Sharks game against the Golden Knights waited until the second half of the first period for the opening goal.
Mike Amadio opened the scoring at 15:25 to send the Golden Knights into the lead. However, it didn’t take long for the home team to tie the game.
Almost two and a half minutes later, the aforementioned Zadina scored his first goal for San Jose. It should be noted that he was assisted by another Czech forward – Tomas Hertl.
However, that was the only goal scored by the Sharks. The fans got another goal at the end of the second period, when Nicolas Hague scored at 38:31.
Less than a minute later, Nicolas Roy made it 3:1. At the start of the third period, Vegas jumped ahead by one more goal, with Brayden Pachal adding a fourth Golden Knights goal. San Jose fell in the first game of the new season and Vegas is now leading the Western Conference with two wins.
Rangers and Devils win, Vrana loses despite assist
However, the Czech hockey players also made their mark in the goal scoring stats in other games. Buffalo lost to the Rangers 1:5 at home, with Filip Chytil contributing an assist.
Jakub Vrana also scored one point for an assist, but it was not enough for St. Louis to win. The Blues lost to Dallas 1:2 after a shootout.
Fans could see a strong Czech representation in New Jersey’s game against Detroit. Vítek Vaněček, Ondřej Palát and Tomáš Nosek played for the home team, the latter assisting the Devils to a 4:3 victory.
