Jamahal Hill responds to criticism from haters who deny him his status as UFC welterweight champion. The real champion for many is still Jiri Prochazka.

Jamahal Hill is the champion thanks to an injury to Jiri Prochazka

Newly crowned champion Hill has made the most of the UFC’s muddled welterweight situation. Indeed, after a serious injury to Jiri Prochazka and a draw between Ankalaev and Blachowicz, the agile American was given a title shot despite being only seventh in the rankings.

However, he outclassed Prochazka’s original opponent Glover Teixeira in dominant fashion to win the division championship belt. But instead of basking in the glory, he has to deal with the inconvenience of trusting in his abilities.

In fact, many haters still don’t consider him a legitimate division champion and attribute the title to previous champion Jirko Procházka. He did not lose his title in the fight, but vacated it at the insistence of the organization due to his long convalescence.

In recent days, however, the Moravian samurai has often been

Hill has now responded to these critics on the show of world-renowned journalist Ariel Helwani. “I would like to remind these voices that your boy barely beat Glover,” he recalled on The MMA Hour the memorable battle between the two men, when Procházka “choked” the UFC veteran with just 28 seconds left in the fight.

“If they fought ten fights, how many times would Jiri win? I’m sure it wouldn’t be ten times, or nine times, or eight times. But if you had to bet money on which of the two of us would beat Glover more times, who would you pick,” he asked flatly.

“Then, considering his serious injury, will he still be the same fighter when he comes back after such an injury? Of the active fighters, I am the best,” he brushed any discussion off.

You can see that Prochazka is very much in the current champion’s stomach. There are many reactions to the Moravian samurai in recent days. Procházka is currently at the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas, rehabilitating his injured shoulder.

Let’s hope that he gets well as soon as possible so we can find out how Hill’s confidence really is. The champion will reportedly wait until April and then decide who his first title challenger will be. But he believes he is capable of knocking out Walk. Will he live up to his words?
