Jadon Sancho has been dropped from the Manchester United first team squad. The club confirmed this in an official statement, a dispute with manager Erik ten Hag has thus proved fatal for the 23-year-old winger.

Jadon Sancho has certainly not fulfilled his star potential at Old Trafford

He was supposed to be one of the Red Devils’ biggest reinforcements, but he certainly didn’t fulfil his star potential at Old Trafford. On the contrary, he is currently experiencing the most difficult moments of his career so far.

When Sancho came back to England from Dortmund in 2021, Manchester United management had high hopes for him. After all, he was one of the best players in the league in Germany. He needed just over 90 minutes to score or assist.

So it was no wonder that the fans celebrated his arrival at the club, despite the astronomical €85 million price tag. Then, when he declared that United is where the young footballer belongs, the club’s supporters couldn’t wait to see him on the pitch.

However, it was his performances on the pitch that certainly didn’t convince and in two seasons he scored just twelve goals to which he added six assists. That’s definitely not enough for a player of his potential in 79 games.

So far this season he remains far below expectations. He played only 79 minutes in four rounds, in which he was also one of the lowest rated players on the team. Manager Erik ten Hag has taken a radical step.

He did not even nominate the still only 23-year-old acquisition in the last round against Arsenal, which he then explained by his poor performance in training.

But the young winger didn’t like that at all and just a few hours after the game he issued a statement on his social media in which he denied the coach’s words in a rather indiscriminate way. And the fire was on the roof.

After getting into a cross with manager ten Hague, he is now out of the first team

The situation hasn’t calmed down even over the national break. There were rumours in the media that Sancho refused to apologise to the Dutch manager and it all culminated in the club’s official statement yesterday.

According to it, Sancho has been dropped from the first team squad indefinitely. ” Jadon Sancho will remain out of the first team in his personal training programme until the discipline problem in the squad is resolved,” the statement on the club’s website read.

We’ll see how the situation with the young winger develops. The club was able to get rid of the player at the end of the transfer window when the Arabs offered a considerable sum of money for him. However, the player ended up staying in the team and now it is clear that he will definitely not help the club in an unflattering situation on the pitch.
