You deserve a slap in the face! Patricio Freire reveals altercation between Pitbull brother and Kleber Koike at the Bellator vs. Rizin 2 backstage
On Bellator vs. Rizin 2 this Saturday, Patricio Pitbull was knocked out by the underdog Chihiro Suzuki. On previous fight, other Pitbull, Patricio, ended the fight against Roberto Satoshi with a “low kick” and won by technical knockout. Behind the scenes, there was a altercation between Pitbull brothers and Kleber Koike, as Patricio revealed live on the media outlet PVT this Sunday.
“A few days ago, Kleber made videos (in Japanese) calling us sellouts because we trained with Mikuru Asakura. When I was knocked out by Chihiro, my brother looked at Kleber and saw him celebrating, so Patricio went to confront him, pushing Koike.
Security separated us, and we went to the locker room. Kleber went there afterward, approached gently, and from nowhere kicked my brother in the chest while he was sitting.
There was a complete brawl in the locker room, but they separated us again. Unfortunately, all of this happened because of another Brazilian, it doesn’t look good for us. He’s a jerk, a kid who deserves a slap in the face!” Patricio stated.
In the same interview, Patricio announced that he will take a break to undergo a surgery. After recovering, he plans to return and defend the Bellator featherweight title. Patricio comes from two consecutive losses, something unprecedented in his career.
“I have a cervical hernia that disrupts my training, even my sleep! I’ve been putting off this surgery for a long time, but I need to do it now. After recovering, I want to get back to fighting as soon as possible. I’ve had two consecutive losses, so I want to return and defend my championship belt as soon as possible,” said.
About his defeat at Bellator vs. Rizin 2, Patricio stated that he was aware of the danger posed by the underdog Chihiro Suzuki and shared how he received the invitation to fight just three days before the event.
“As some important fights were canceled, like my brother Patricky’s fight against AJ McKee, the Rizin organization offered me the opportunity to fight on the card, and I could choose the weight class, so I choose 70kg, especially because it was the weight Chihiro was walking around at.
I knew he was a good striker, and in a fight, anything can happen. This time I got caught,” said Freire, that lost two last fights against Sergio Pettis and Chihiro Suzuki.
