Barcelona coach Xavi confirmed that he has personally spoken to the extremely talented youngster Endrick, who is also of great interest to other European clubs. Palmeiras want an astronomical amount of €60 million for their comet, but this will not be a problem to get given the overwhelming interest.
Only 16 years old, the spiky striker or winger Endrick plays for Brazilian side Palmeiras, football website Transfermarkt has estimated his price tag at €20 million. That in itself is a huge sum for such a young player, but Palmeiras are set to demand the amount stated in the exit clause, €60 million.
So far, Real Madrid have been the favourites to acquire him, dreaming of creating a super-talented attacking trident from Brazil consisting of Rodrygo – Endrick – Vinícius Júnior. But Barcelona are against it and their coach Xavi is trying to convince the youngster to move to Camp Nou.
The Catalan outfit is at an economic disadvantage in the battle for the player’s services, because unlike other suitors Chelsea and PSG, it is currently not in a position to be willing and very likely able to pay the required amount.
The Blaugranas will try to reduce this, it is Xavi’s personal persuasion of the promising striker that will help.
Endrick is the right face for our project, says Xavi
“I spoke to his father and then to Endrick himself. I tried to outline to them our project in Barcelona, where this player would be a perfect fit. We only want talented footballers and that’s what he is. He is a player who can be a difference maker one day and who will decide big games,” the Barcelona coach commented on the Brazilian striker to ESPN.
“Endrick can score goals, he has fantastic dribbling and ball work in a minimal area, in short a difference footballer. He is a player of the present and especially of the future, who is already playing and scoring goals in the Brazilian league.
He knows the project we have in Barcelona, we talk about it together. I hope he will join us soon, but it will all depend on him,” the former legendary midfielder concluded.
