It has long been speculated that Xavi could become Barcelona coach. Now it is becoming a reality! The Qatari club Al-Sadd, where the Barcelona legend has worked until now, has issued a statement about his departure.

Al-Sadd agreed to release Xavi after Barcelona bought him out of the club. The former outstanding midfielder is thus expected to replace Barcelona’s interim manager Sergi Barjuan in the coming days or hours.

The Qatari club under his management won the title last season with a very convincing margin of 13 points. This season they are also currently first. In the matches, his team presented a modern football similar to that of Barcelona under Pep Guardiola.

However, he has a very difficult job ahead of him in Barcelona as the Catalan team is in a disrespectful ninth place in the Spanish La Liga.
