Xavi can’t praise Frenkie de Jong’s growing form

Barcelona coach Xavi can increasingly rely on his midfielder Frenkie de Jong. He has seen his performance increase significantly in the current season and has become a cornerstone of the Catalan club’s starting line-up.

Thanks to his reliable performances, Frenkie de Jong has worked his way into one of the pillars of his team’s starting line-up. It seems that the Dutch midfielder could be a full-fledged replacement for the ageing Busquets.

What exactly was behind de Jong’s significant performance rise? According to coach Xavi, it’s due to greater confidence.

“I think the main thing is confidence. We give him enough confidence so that he feels he fits perfectly into our system. He feels happy, he enjoys the games. He is very important for us,” Xavi praised his player, according to Football Espaňa.

“He is a versatile midfielder. He has the ability to perform well. He is currently a difference maker, which he proved in the match against Villarreal. He is playing really well,” added the Barcelona coach.

De Jong has created a great trio in the midfield. Together with Pedri and Gavi, they are giving excellent performances and are the future for Barcelona.

Gavi is 18 years old, Pedri is two years older. De Jong is paradoxically the most experienced player at 25 years old. Even so, the young midfielders are outplaying their opponents.

The management, including the fans, cannot praise these players. Although it seemed impossible before, they may be the ones to replace the legendary trio of Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta.

Their performances are certainly helped by the team’s resultant well-being. Barcelona is leading La Liga with a lead of eleven points.
