Lucie Pudilova is back in the UFC. Her first fight is this weekend and her opponent will be Wu Yanan. The Czech fighter has made progress since her end in the UFC and thanks to that she goes into the first fight as a favorite. What to expect from the fight and what to bet on?
She was the first Czech in the UFC, however the organization didn’t spare her too much and gave her one tough opponent after another. Moreover, Lucie Pudilova was still relatively young at the time and had a lot of room for improvement.
When she quit the UFC, she signed with the Octagon and made a few changes. She tried several gyms and now trains under the legendary John Kavanagh, who is, among others, Conor McGregor’s trainer.
Under Kavanagh’s guidance, Pudilova has improved more than just her stance. She is also working on her ground skills, which were her weakness. And that’s what will come in handy in her first fight back in the top organization.
Wu Yanan is practically the easiest possible opponent for her to get. However, her strength is the ground. So in that respect, she can not only test Pudilova, but also trouble her.
Pudilova is the favourite and she should prove it in this match. However, despite improving her stand-up, it can’t be said that she has a KO punch. After all, she has won 9 of her 13 wins on points. The last time she finished someone was in 2016 before leaving for the UFC.
But just like Pudilova doesn’t really finish anyone, it’s hard to finish her. She has 7 losses, however, 6 of them were on points. So a three round fight on points can be expected.
