Wrong next to wrong! Does Holger Rune lack insight or is he right to complain?
This game was definitely not boring. Italy’s Sinner defeated Denmark’s Holger Rune in the quarter-finals of the Monte Carlo tournament in a match that featured several emotional displays. Does Rune feel rightly wronged and what happened?

Rune warned
Danish tennis player Holger Rune is certainly not afraid to voice his opinion. And the match with Jannik Sinner gave him several opportunities to do so.
The number one problem was the tournament schedule, which forced the young Dane to play almost three matches in two days. While on Thursday he succeeded against Nagala of India and Bulgarian Dimitrov, on Friday he succumbed to the favoured Sinner.
It must be added that Rune played two very long matches in the Mediterranean heat and a certain amount of frustration can be understood here.
But the bigger problem was related to the audience. Sinner’s supporters disturbed the Dane on his serve, which is objectively wrong of course, and the 20-year-old tried to calm them down in his own way.
For this gesture he received a warning from the umpire, which he refused to acknowledge as a justified reaction. In his eyes, Rune was merely urging the audience to calm down. He eventually lost the match with Sinner after sets of 4:6, 7:6, 3:6.
End of story
The crown of everything was put on the ATP Tour, which published a post on its profile about the Sinner – Rune match, which was salt in the wound of the Dane. The tennis player responded by listing all the recent wrongs.
In the eyes of some tennis fans, Rune thus confirmed that he seems to lack a certain perspective at the highest level. But many understand his outrage.
The Dane’s complaints can certainly be taken as justified. Moreover, in such a case, why shouldn’t he actually speak up?
What is certain, however, is that it is absolutely best for all parties if Rune turns all the negative experiences into a source of motivation and proves on the courts that he is a great talent in the white sport. After all, he is only at the beginning of his career.
