Worlds 2023: Ticket purchase dates announced for the biggest esports event on the planet

Riot Games has announced via the LoL Esports Twitter profile the dates when tickets for Worlds will go on sale.

It’s here! The first step towards the upcoming Worlds 2023 is upon us. The LoL Esports Twitter account has announced that sales for the thirteenth League of Legends World Championship will go on sale during July.

Tickets for the main event of the year, hosted for the third time in history by South Korea – the mecca of modern esports – will traditionally be split into three parts.

First to go on sale will be tickets for the Play-In stage, which will feature the champions of the smaller regions and the winner of an additional qualifier between the US and European top four based on rankings. Ticket sales will begin on July 10.

After that, tickets will go on sale for the main part of the tournament, featuring a certain top 12 teams on the planet, mainly from the major leagues.

This 12 will be complemented by the four qualifiers from the play-in phase. Tickets for the main stage of the tournament will go on sale on July 19.

The last knockout stage, including the grand final, will go on sale on August 2. Riot will announce where tickets will be available in the coming days.

The 13th World Championship, or Worlds, will be hosted by South Korea from October 10 to November 19. The title will be defended by last year’s surprise winner, Korea’s DRX, who defeated the favored T1 3-2 in the finals.

But whether the defending champions will qualify for the home tournament is still up in the air. The team is having the worst year in the history of the organization.
