World Cup in Qatar without football stars. Who will be missing?

Every footballer dreams of playing the national anthem in a national tournament watched around the world. But not everyone gets to do it. Let’s take a look now at the big stars who will be missing from next year’s World Cup in Qatar.

Is there anyone on this planet who can imagine a glorious championship without Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi or Neymar? We believe not. Yet fate will find another way for polished diamonds.

Erling Haaland – Norway

One era is ending while the other is slowly unfolding other storylines. Maybe Mbappe won’t catch up with Haaland in terms of goals scored at the World Cup or Europeans. Even so, they can direct goals to other heights. Like the young Norwegian who wants more goals than games played and takes it for granted for his country.

Will his national team career be a key factor in his battle for the Ballon d’Or with the aforementioned guy from France? So many questions and sad faces at the same time because of his absence in Qatar. Hopefully the slowly rising quality in Scandinavia will show in his career. He deserves it already.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – Gabon

Do you know where Gabon is? Alright, let’s do a little geographical window. This country of over two million people is located in Central Africa and takes agriculture as its main source of livelihood. It boasts one more thing on top.

This state is the birthplace of Arsenal’s star striker. Life’s journey has been a steep one for the talented Aubameyang, but he provides stark proof that everything is not hard to achieve if you have talent and a reasonable amount of luck.

At thirty-two, he has never abandoned the national team. He might have started for France, though, where he even played one preliminary match in February 2009. Yet less than a month after that, he was starting for the African national team. Everything seemed simple. But to strike success with a team that was losing to Equatorial Guinea? That’s already showing for itself.

Edin Džeko – Bosnia and Herzegovina

Age is just a number. Especially for this guy, who’s been burning it up not only at AS Roma, but now at the famous Inter Milan. In Serie A, he’s being taken as a great replacement for the departed Romelu Lukaku in the English Premier League.

He has always dragged his native country to better results. Often to the hardest imaginable. Like the World Cup qualifier in Brazil seven years ago. His team made it to the final, but only because he scored ten goals!

The biggest success in his country’s history ended in elimination in the group stage. Still, it is an unforgettable and the last experience of a popular footballer in an international tournament.

Jan Oblak – Slovenia

Carries the status of one of the best goalkeepers catching on football turf. The long-time Atlético Madrid number one has seen some wonderful highs, lows and even unexpected decisions. He has received many offers, yet he is loyal to his Spanish team.

In 319 games in La Liga, he has shown his skills to many of us. Just like he did with the Slovenian national team. But that’s where Lady Luck doesn’t shine green. He has been stagnating in the red for a long time now, keeping the 28-year-old goalkeeper in the qualification clamps.

Milan Škriniar – Slovakia

The last mentioned and the second Inter Milan player on the list. Already voted Slovakian Footballer of the Year several times, he is a role model for many players.

Our neighbours are no slouch in international tournaments. They kicked off theirs at this year’s Euro 2020 or 2016. But they are not on their way to the top of the world like we are. In their case, their non-participation next winter is already clear. So let’s hope for happier years, perhaps in five years’ time in the USA.
