All golf fans should be on alert this coming weekend! The Ritz Carlton GC in Orlando, USA will host the biggest golfing aces with their families by their side. It is certainly no secret that the eyes of the fans will be most focused on Tiger Woods and his son Charlie. But Czech fans will also be in for a treat.

The PNC Championship is one of the most attractive tournaments in the USA, and its viewership surpasses even the biggest major events. The tournament was played for the very first time in 1995, back then under the name Father/Son Challenge.

At that time, the tournament featured major winners and their sons, and later the event expanded to include daughters and other family members, until it crystallized into what it is today.

The PNC Championship lasts two days, which includes a total of 36 holes. While it is taken in an exhibition spirit, twenty couples will still battle it out for a total of $1,085,000.

Eurosport commentator Dominik Kárnik is looking forward to the weekend’s spectacle: “I’mreally looking forward to this weekend, I can’t miss such a great tournament, a real hit, and very popular.” Eurosport will be broadcasting the event live. On Saturday from 19:30, and on Sunday from 18:30, viewers can expect approximately eight hours of live coverage.

WOODS vs. KORDA

The hottest commodity will undoubtedly be the participation of Tiger Woods, who will take to the court for the first time since his car accident in February, when doctors were fixing his badly mangled leg. Many are talking about how lucky they are that Tiger survived the accident at all.

Now, ten months after the accident, he will step out in Orlando with his 12-year-old son Charlie, with whom they finished sixth in last year’s tournament.

On the court, little Charlie looks like a small faithful copy of his father, the cameras often amused at their identical movements during the game. American golf experts predict a promising future for little Woods.

Some bookmakers have even written odds of 1,500 to one that Charlie will win a major tournament before the age of 22.

The attractive challengers for Czech fans will be a pair with a strong Czech footprint. World number one Nelly Korda is officially an American golfer, but she cannot deny her Czech roots. Her father is former Czech tennis legend Petr Korda.

And it is the last Olympic champion from Tokyo who will take her father with her to the game, who will appear at a golf event of this kind for the first time. Commentator Dominik Kárník described this pairing as the icing on the cake of what awaits fans this weekend.
