Women’s football: the Nations League is here! The Czech women will play Slovenia and Belarus, the second match, although home, will be played in Croatia
While in men’s football the national break is already over, in women’s football it is just beginning. During the break, the Czech women’s footballers will enter the Nations League, where they can look forward to six matches. First up are Slovenia and Belarus.

The year 2022 is quite interesting from the perspective of Czech women’s national football. The Czechs have always alternated between defeat and victory, losing to Australia, Spain, Austria and Northern Ireland, and winning against Jamaica, Morocco and Slovakia.
It has always been a friendly, but the situation is different now. The Czech women will enter the Nations League, which we are already familiar with from men’s football. And it is there that they can look forward to Slovenia, Belarus and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Czechs have their first match scheduled for 22 September, when they will take on the Slovenes at 4 pm. Four days later they can look forward to Belarus and the goal is quite clear, preferably to score points in both matches and if possible win.
“This clash will be specific in that we are losing our home game against Belarus. We were supposed to play this opponent at home, but that is not possible, so we are playing in Croatia.
We won’t have the advantage of a home environment, but on the other hand we will have a base in Velka Gorica during the whole meeting and that could be an advantage,” coach Karel Rada told the FAČR website.
The coach will have a relatively young team at his disposal, the oldest players in the nomination will be twenty-nine-year-old footballers Klára Cahynová and Andrea Dědinová.
Seventeen female footballers, on the other hand, are no older than twenty-five, so the team can be expected to be together for many years to come. The future is thus taken care of and now we just need to finally get to some final tournament.
