Wolff will remain Mercedes boss for at least another 3 years! I want to win again, nobody can do my position better than myself, says

Toto Wolff will remain the boss of Mercedes, having signed a multi-year contract with last season’s third-best team. Specifically, he has signed a contract extension for another three years. So he will remain at the helm of the German stable until at least the 2026 season.
According to the Telegraph, Toto Wolff remains the boss of Mercedes. In fact, he has signed a multi-year contract with the German team and will be the leader of the famous brand until at least 2026.
Wolff just gave this information that he has agreed with other shareholders to extend his contract in an interview with the aforementioned British newspaper. The fifty-two-year-old native of Vienna is 33 percent owner of the F1 team.
The other co-owners, of course, also 33 percent, are Daimler and INEOS. Wolff is therefore in a rather exclusive position in the negotiations. The Austrian is already the second longest-serving boss in Formula 1, preceded only by Christian Horner of Red Bull.
Wolff joined Mercedes in 2013, winning eight Constructors’ Cup championships under his guidance. Lewis Hamilton celebrated winning six World Championship titles under him. He has earned his position as one of F1’s most successful team bosses.
But when the new regulations come in 2022, Mercedes will be replaced on the throne by Red Bull Racing. The Silver Arrows finished the 2022 edition of the season just in third place in the Constructors’ Cup, having finished second the previous year.
It should be added, in two seasons, Mercedes has scored just one win. And that was in the 2022 Brazilian Grand Prix, which was won by George Russell. And that’s one of the main reasons Wolff has signed a new contract. He wants to return to that throne with his driver line-up.
Russell and Hamilton, by the way, have valid contracts until 2025, something Mercedes officially announced last year. Mercedes will unveil this year’s W15 car on February 14 at Silverstone.
Wolff: Nobody can handle my position better than myself
“I’m not going to try to hold on to a position that I think someone else can do better than me. I make sure I have people around me who can tell me otherwise. But in the end, we decided to do it again,” Wolff said of working with Daimler and INEOS in the aforementioned interview with The Telegraph.
“In the end, as a shareholder, I also want the best return on my investment. And the best return on investment is winning,” he said, making clear his ambition to return to the top spot in more than just the Constructors’ Cup.
