Not long ago, it could have been said that it was a mistake, but patience brings roses and now David Zima is also finding out. The native of Hana is slowly starting to make his way in the Italian Serie A.

Sigma Olomouc brought him up for adult football, Prague Slavia toughened him up and now David Zima is trying to make the next step in Italy.

31. august became a player of Torino, while there were many doubts about this step. According to some, the Moravian stopper was too young and inexperienced, while according to others he did not choose the right team. There were many doubts.

Not long ago, many would have said that the doubts were justified. Zima was picking up minutes only sporadically, more likely not at all. But that broke down in the second half of November.

It almost seems that the November national team reunion was to blame. The Sigma Olomouc alumnus played full games against Estonia and Kuwait, and before the reunion he spent five games in Turin only on the bench.

Since then, however, he has appeared in all of his team’s matches. He initially came on for 22 minutes, then played the entire second half, but has been in the starting lineup for the last three games and certainly hasn’t been dropped in any of them.

In none of the last three games has Torino lost, thanks to Zima. The Turin side drew with Empoli and Cagliari, but on Sunday they beat Bologna 2-1, with the native of Hana being one of the best players on the pitch.

According to WhoScored, only four players played better in the match, one of them was the opponent’s goalkeeper, the other three forming the Turin offensive. Zima got a 6.8 grade, which is definitely not bad at all.

The win moved Torino up to 12th place in the table, and Zima and co. will face Verona in the next round.
