Winning the conference? It would be West Ham’s best season in a long time, admits Coufal

When he was playing for Slovan Liberec, at one stage in his career few would have believed he would be playing Premier League football. But Vladimír Coufal proved with his determination that anything is possible.
The Czech full-back arrived from Slavia in October 2020 and now has played 100 games in a Kladivars jersey. How does he remember these matches?
“Mostly I see a dream come true! I never imagined that I could make so many starts for a club like West Ham. Now I have them and I’m not done yet. I hope to add as many as I can. I see good games and bad games, successes and failures, disappointments.
Like getting knocked out in the Europa League semi-final with Frankfurt, not making the top four in the Premier League and not getting promoted to the Champions League in my opening season here. Anyway, I see more positives than negatives,” he said in an interview with Goal.
West Ham drew 2-2 with Arsenal at the weekend. The point was important, Soucek and co. currently have 31 points, which means a 4 point lead on the relegation places.
But West Ham still have a game to play and considering the last few games, it seems that a rescue should be realistic. But the Hammers are fighting on two fronts, they can still win the Conference Europa League.
“We have to save the Premier League and if we reach the final of the Conference Europa League or even win it, I think that will surpass the previous seasons we have played. It would be West Ham’s best season in a long time. It would bea lovely ending after a year of misery,” he added.
