Krejci didn’t get many chances in Atlanta this year
Vit Krejci made his only Czech mark in the NBA this season. Still, it wasn’t a significant one, as he couldn’t make a good run with the Atlanta Hawks.
He joined Atlanta before the start of the season and hoped that after a failed Eurobasket he could shine at least here. But the opposite became true. Krejci played just 165 minutes for the Hawks and never once started as a starting five.
In such a short time, he managed to score only 36 points. With one year left on his contract, he needs to convince the team to extend his contract in the most famous basketball league.
Krejci remains positive, wants to work hard and see what comes next
Since Vit Krejci hasn’t played much, he’s had a lot of extra individual workouts in the NBA. He believes they have helped him to move on. He has made a lot of progress in his skills and believes he will capitalize on them.
“The message is clear, I have to work hard and not worry about what’s going on around me. When the chance comes, I have to take it,” the Czech basketball player told iDnes.
Before the end of the season, Quin Snyder came to Atlanta as the new head coach. Krejci believes that he will get more chances under him, because his style should suit the Czech basketball player’s game.
“We’ll see how I handle the Summer League preparation. I believe that I will do something more overseas and the best is yet to come,” Vít Krejčí remains positive.
Currently, the Czech basketball player is in Prague, where he is training and preparing for the NBA summer camps. He is looking forward to meeting his teammates and hopes to earn a spot on the Hawks.
