Will Vincent Kompany return to the Premier League? He is being lured back to England by Burnley

Burnley’s management is currently focused on saving the Premier League, where they have been since the 2016/17 season. This, of course, will determine the hiring of a new coach, who is expected to build on the success of the previous Sean Dyche. Burnley’s management is currently focused on saving the Premier League, where they have been since the 2016/17 season. This, of course, will determine the hiring of a new coach, who should build on the success of the previous Sean Dyche. One of the big names then could be Manchester City legend Vincent Kompany.

Burnley recently decided to make a change at the coaching post, sacking Dyche after 10 years. U23 coach Mike Jackson took his place and the effect was almost immediate. The team, which also includes Czech striker Matej Vydra, first won a point against West Ham and then defeated Southampton and Wolves at home.

As a result, Burnley are currently in 17th place, having two points to 18th place Everton, but the Toffees have a game in hand. Burnley don’t only have to look behind them though, as three points ahead of them is Leeds United.

Moreover, the team playing at Turf Moor Stadium has a much easier draw than its rivals, so the chances of salvation are high!

New coach for Burnley

If Jackson manages to save Burnley in the Premier League, the question is whether the club’s management would decide to entrust the club to him. Either way, there are potentially some very interesting names in the game, but they will hear much better on a possible offer if the team doesn’t drop into the Championship.

According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, Wayne Rooney, who is currently in charge of Derby County, as well as Middlesbrough coach Chris Wilder and Carlos Carvalhal, who is on the bench at Braga, are in the running.

The hottest candidate, however, should be Vincent Kompany, who currently leads RSC Anderlecht. All in all, he has already racked up 85 games as head coach (5 as acting coach) with a record of 39 wins, 28 draws and 18 losses.

The third most valuable team in the Belgian league finished the season (main part) in third place, having lost 13 points to leaders Union SG. Anderlecht finished the same way in the previous season, which is definitely a big improvement from the previous 8th place.

The potential is definitely there with Kompany and given his great reputation in England, one can expect him to emerge as a coach in the Premier League sooner or later.
