Will Xavi leave Barcelona? That is the question that hangs in the air after the Almeria game and it is a very real alternative. In fact, the president of the Catalan giant is disappointed with the approach of the current coach and is strongly considering his dismissal.

This is turning into a pretty solid saga. The current Barcelona coach, a few weeks after announcing the end of Jürgen Klopp at Liverpool, made the decision to leave the Catalan giant at the end of the season.

Recently, however, Xavi changed his mind and confirmed that he will be staying at Barcelona after all. However, there was already speculation in the Spanish media before Thursday’s game in Almeria that this would not be the case after all.

And as Forbes magazine reported on Friday morning, club president Joan Laporta has reportedly decided that Xavi will not continue as Barcelona’s head coach from next season. He does not like the actions of the current manager and his actions in the media space.

The first reason in any case is Xavi’s comments before the Almeria game. Laporta feels that the coach’s words are very different from what he told the board at the meeting before announcing he was staying.

Xavi then defended his comments after the win over Almeria, which consolidated Barca’s position in second place. Specifically, the statement where Xavi said that because of the bad situation, it will be difficult to compete with the best next year.

Will Xavi leave Barcelona?

“I said what I think. The economic situation is not the best. But we will still strive for the best. I’m looking forward to next season when we will win titles,” Xavi said.

Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo also reported on the potential departure of the 45-year-old coach. Laporta is said to be simply disappointed with the coach’s approach and is indeed strongly considering his dismissal. However, we will have to wait for further news of an official nature.
