Will the American beauty box without gloves again? BKFC boss has no regrets about engaging former UFC star
Paige VanZant is a very well-known name in combat sports. Not only for her beauty, but also for her skills. After her stint in the UFC, she went out on her own and you could almost say she does what she wants. She’s even had two fights in bare-knuckle boxing. Will she add another one?
Paige VanZant is a very well-known name in combat sports. Not only for her beauty, but also for her skills. After her stint in the UFC, she went out on her own and you could almost say she does what she wants. She’s even had two fights in bare-knuckle boxing. Will she add another one?
She’s still only 28 years old, yet she’s been through and tried a lot in her life. Paige VanZant has also made it to the UFC, where she’s made a name for herself and become one of the organization’s biggest stars. Especially with her popularity.
And that was her goal. The UFC contract is binding, restrictive. And it’s not like the biggest MMA organization in the world pays everyone royally. After all, the American fighter herself admitted that she earns much more on the OnlyFans platform than she does fighting in the UFC.
After her end in the UFC, she took a more than surprising turn. She signed up with the BKFC, an organization that organizes a boxing gala without gloves. Plus, she’s very ambitious and has no problem paying her stars well.
In addition, VanZant has brought the organization a large following. But she lost both her fights. First to Britanny Hart and then to Rachael Ostovich, another former UFC star.
But as mentioned before, the American does pretty much what she wants. She wanted to try wrestling, so she took it up. And what about other fights in the BKFC organization? For now, an uncertain future.
However, the brand’s boss David Feldman believes that VanZant will extend her contract and we could see her in the ring in February 2023. But he hasn’t ruled out the possibility that it won’t happen either.
Her last fight was in July 2021. “What I like about her is that she has a lot of toughness. She doesn’t like it when she loses. She will do everything she can to get a win. She’s the type of fighter we want at BKFC. If we can, we want her to continue with us,” BJPenn quoted Feldman as saying.
“If it doesn’t work out, it’s been a great journey. It’s definitely a decision we would make again,” he said, adding that they are trying to get her a really reputable opponent.
