Stanislav Lobotka is one of the best football players in Slovakia. It is not surprising that world teams are interested in him. Now even the president of Barcelona has spoken about him and admitted that he would like to sign him.
Stanislav Lobotka’s career is very interesting. He first headed from Trenčín to Ajax, via Nordsjaelland to Celta Vigo, and after two and a half seasons he reinforced Italian Napoli, where he won the league title.
Lobotka is currently twenty-nine years old and may be in the best shape of his career. It’s no surprise that he is in demand from clubs across Europe. And it seems he could even move up a level.
The player’s agent Branislav Jarušek recently spoke about the fact that he is being pursued by Spanish side Barcelona, which has now been confirmed by their president Joan Laporta. He told the media that Barcelona want to sign him.
But how much would Lobotka cost the Catalans? According to Transfermarkt, the player’s value is €30 million, but Lobotka is a stable member of the starting line-up, plus he has a contract until 2027.
Napoli can ask much more for him. Italian journalist Nicolo Schira revealed that the sum should be around €40 million. And that is already a sum that Barcelona officials have to think hard about.
The club is still not financially healthy, but it wants to be competitive, so it has to strengthen. If the transfer were to happen, Lobotka would become only the second Slovakian in history to play for Barcelona.
Ladislav Kubala is an icon of the club, who considered himself more of a Hungarian, but briefly played for Czechoslovakia.
