Will Šilhavý dare to send Jurásek to the national team right away? And what about the other newcomers?
Jaroslav Šilhavý nominated 6 newcomers for the March meeting. A fresh wind will be needed for the EURO 2024 qualification, but who of them has a chance to make the starting line-up right away?
Jaroslav Šilhavý nominated 6 newcomers for the March meeting. A fresh wind will be needed for the EURO 2024 qualification, but who of them has a chance to make the starting line-up right away?
David Jurásek, Matěj Jurásek, David Douděra, Tomáš Čvančara, Martin Vitík and Lukáš Sadílek. These are the six players who are in the national team for the first time.
David Jurásek has the best chance to jump into the starting lineup. The national team has not had a long-term left back since Jan Bořil was injured after EURO 2020, and Jurásek is the one who should take over the position for the next few years.
He is great in terms of speed and technicality, his biggest strength is his centres. His only competition is Jaroslav Zelený, but he can also play as a stopper. It is practically inevitable that Jurásek will soon be the number one at this position, the sooner he starts playing here the better.
“I perceive that a left back is being sought. I would like to get into the starting lineup, but it depends on my performance,” Jurásek said at the press conference.
Another one of the rookies being talked about in connection with the starting lineup is Tomas Cvančara. The lanky striker is playing in tremendous form, with 15 goals already to his credit, and he suits his partnership with Jan Kuchta.
But there is a lot of competition in the attack, despite Patrik Schick’s injury. Kuchta is the offensive number one, while Václav Černý, who is playing in great form, should be given space on the right wing, where Čvančara is playing for Sparta.
Jaroslav Šilhavý also has Adam Hložek and Antonín Barák on the back line. Čvančara looks more like a joker for the second half.
The other players, M. Jurásek, Douděra, Vitík and Sadílek will rather get used to the atmosphere and if they do, they might get a chance in Monday’s game against Moldova.
