Will Ronaldo return to Italy’s Serie A? A surprise bidder has signed up for his services

Cristiano Ronaldo could head back to the Apennine Peninsula, where he previously played for Juventus Turin, after his stint at Manchester United. Fiorentina are reportedly considering signing him.
Cristiano Ronaldo is currently in Qatar and is focused solely on the World Cup, where his Portugal are battling Uruguay, South Korea and Ghana in a packed Group H. But with the media speculating heavily about his future, the legendary striker will certainly have plenty to choose from in January.
So far, there have been reports of interest from Chelsea, Newcastle United, Bayern Munich, Sporting Lisbon or non-European engagements in countries such as the United States, Saudi Arabia or, most recently, Australia. Now a new and rather surprising candidate has emerged from Europe.
It is Italy’s Fiorentina, for whom until recently another star footballer at the end of his career, Franck Ribéry, was still playing, and who then tried his hand at Salernitana before hanging up his cleats this year.
Will Ronaldo follow in the footsteps of the French winger? According to Calciomercatoweb, that option may be on the table.
The owner of the Violets is an admirer of Ronaldo and wants him in the team
Fiorentina’s wealthy owner Rocco B. Commisso is reportedly a big fan of Ronaldo, and in order to convince him to come to Florence, he is willing to free up a considerable amount of money on his salary. The question is how the Portuguese himself, who would love to play in the Champions League again, would feel about a return to Serie A.
Ronaldo played for Juventus between 2018 and 2021 after his departure from Real Madrid, where he spent the most glorious years of his illustrious career. He scored 101 goals in 134 games for the Old Lady, showing that even at an advanced age he is still one of the world’s top footballers.
At Manchester United, he was a little less successful, and this season under new manager Erik ten Hag he even dropped out of the starting line-up, which he took very badly.
After a recent scandalous interview with Piers Morgan, in which he criticized the coach and the United management, the club terminated his contract for violating the terms of his contract. Ronaldo is now a free agent.
