Will Real Madrid buy Mbappé and Haaland next summer? They have the money, La Liga president reveals

Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé on the same team? The dream of many football fans can come true! Real Madrid are strongly considering buying both players and according to La Liga boss Javier Tebas, they definitely have the funds to do so.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, as the greatest symbols of football in the first two decades of the 21st century, have never played together in the same team. There is no indication that this will be any different in the future. Perhaps after their careers at some charity clash.

But at the start of the third decade, players are coming to the fore to replace the legendary duo on the alien sniper stage. Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe are the closest.

Their time is inexorably approaching. And more and more, the question is whether we will ever see these two playing alongside each other.

Most talk is that if it is to happen, it will be at Real Madrid. And that could be as soon as next season. Mbappé is virtually certain to head there in the summer, he himself has long talked about it being his dream, and in recent months he has stoutly resisted heady contract extension offers from PSG.

It is the Norwegian international who has a far bigger question mark hanging over him. His exit clause is set to be activated in the summer, allowing anyone to buy Haaland out of Borussia Dortmund for around €80m immediately.

And so he is already the subject of intense interest from all of Europe’s big clubs – Manchester City and Chelsea, Bayern Munich and PSG, as well as Barcelona and Real Madrid. It is a move to the latter club that could make for a literally otherworldly connection.

Hand in hand with these debates, however, is the financial aspect. While a Spanish club would get both players for what is actually a rather ridiculous amount of money, paying their wages is like dragging an elephant behind you in a car.

Staying with this metaphor for a moment, it seems that despite all the possible troubles, Real Madrid has a really strong engine to pull. Indeed, the head of La Liga himself, who, by the way, keeps a really strict eye on the funding of his clubs, has revealed that the White Ballet has no shortage of money to pay Haaland and Mbappé.

“Real Madrid have sufficient funds to secure the services of both Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland at the same time next summer,” Javier Tebas said in an interview with Spanish journalist El Partidazo de Copem.
