As the transfer window is about to open, more and more transfer speculations are surfacing. One of them was recently reported by the French media. They are speculating that one of the biggest stars of PSG will leave the French club. Brazilian football striker Neymar. He should strengthen the English team Manchester United. Could such a transfer happen?

PSG has a clear intention for next season. It is already certain that one of the best players in football history, Lionel Messi, will not continue in the jersey of the French champion, who is trying to be snapped up by his parent club FC Barcelona. Neymar is not expected to play for PSG either. Of the dreaded attacking trident, only Kylian Mbappé should continue, around whom PSG’s owners would like to assemble a new winning team.

Wherever Neymar moves to, his future employer must prepare for several things. The first one that could put off a potential suitor for the Brazilian’s services is the player’s age alone. Neymar is already 32 years old, and although he is still one of the best wingers in the world, no club can build its future on him. Engaging him would give the club immediate quality for about two seasons, but no potential future benefit.

Another complication for Neymar’s new club could be the player’s salary. Neymar is one of PSG’s highest paid players and he certainly wouldn’t go downwards with his wage demands. So whoever wants to acquire Neymar will also have to pay him accordingly.

The third problem could be the fact that Neymar is becoming more and more injury prone as he gets older. At PSG, they could tell a story. The Brazilian came to PSG to win the Champions League, which is still cursed for the Parisian side. Neymar, meanwhile, has hit the knockout stages on only a handful of occasions. Otherwise, he has always been struck down by injury.

So would the transfer to Manchester United, which the French media have begun to report, make any sense? Absolutely not. United’s Dutch coach Erik ten Hag has been very responsible and logical in the transfer market so far. He brings in exactly the players who fit his concept.

Not to mention that he already had one big star in the team. The conflict he had with Cristiano Ronaldo, which resulted in the Portuguese’s departure to Saudi Arabia, is still very well remembered by the fans.

It is not impossible that a similar problem could arise in the case of Neymar. Moreover, the Manchester United-Neymar connection has already been refuted by Fabrizio Romano. According to the respected journalist, no negotiations between Neymar and United have started and probably won’t.

Moreover, United have selected completely different players for the attack. They would urgently need reinforcements at the spearhead striker position, with Neymar having played his entire career on the wing. United would like to get either Harry Kane from Tottenham or Victor Osimhen from Napoli.

So where will the Brazilian magician end up? We’ll find out in the summer transfer window. What is definitely true, however, is that Neymar’s future employer will have to manage to keep the Brazilian’s ego in check and explain to him that Neymar is there for the team. And not the other way around.
