Last season, PSG could still boast a stellar attacking trio. But Lionel Messi is gone, Kylian Mbappé has been dropped from the squad and Neymar is expected to leave during the summer. The French champion has even already had to accept a generous offer from Saudi Arabia.
Will the main thing that made PSG interesting disappear in one summer? Lionel Messi is already shining in Miami, Kylian Mbappé has been dropped from the squad and Neymar is on his way out. The star trio is history.
With Mbappé, things might not be so hot. PSG put a lot of pressure on him, which the Frenchman did not succumb to. On Saturday, the French champion did not deal with Lorient and on Sunday, the club announced that he will return to the team after all.
Neymar, however, is most likely to actually end up in Paris. According to Fabrizio Romano, PSG should have accepted a very generous offer. There is speculation of a sum of around 150 million euros.
Al-Hilal, the Saudi Arabian club that already has Kalidou Koulibaly, Rouben Neves, Sergej Milikovic-Savic and Malcom, for example, are the most interested in the Brazilian magician.
Al-Hilal have a failed Arab Club Championship final under their belt, where they fell short to Al-Nassr, with two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo deciding the match. Neymar would thus be an interesting reinforcement.
However, the question is whether Neymar will want to leave for Saudi Arabia. It is on his decision that the whole transfer now rests. Negotiations are still ongoing between his representatives and Al-Hilal.
Moreover, UOL mentions that the Brazilian prefers to return to Barcelona, even if he would have to accept a significant pay cut. Besides, there is interest in the player in the American MLS, which would understandably fit Neymar’s lifestyle much more.
Neymar could earn over €100 million a year if he signs for Al-Hilal. If he returns to Barcelona, there is talk of €15 million.
