Croatia will face an uphill battle on Saturday when they take on Morocco for third place at the World Cup. The main driving force behind Zlatko Dalic’s selection is none other than Luka Modric.
At 37, he could be thinking about the end of his career, but that is far from the case. Modric is still in great form and in equally great shape. He is also one of the mainstays of Real Madrid.
But his contract expires in the summer and it is hard to say whether it will be renewed. The Croatian midfielder has previously let it be known that he would like to end his career at the Santiago Bernabeu. However, there is another challenge on offer.
The Spanish media have started speculating about a very interesting offer. There would undoubtedly be a lot of interest in Modric if he does not sign for Real Madrid. Already now the traditional Italian club has come forward.
According to Defensa Central, AS Roma led by Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho, who has already met the Croatian legend when he coached Real Madrid, are interested in Modric.
The Los Blancos star would be a huge boost for the Roman outfit. He would undoubtedly play a vital role in the planned progression of the entire club. He has immense experience, a winning mentality and world-class qualities.
It is worth mentioning that Modric was considered by the Spanish media as the worst signing in La Liga after his transfer to Real Madrid. However, he has already kicked 454 for Real Madrid, scoring 36 goals and adding 74 assists.
