PSG have to deal with an unpleasant concern. Kylian Mbappé has a contract at the club only until the summer of the coming year and that there should be an extension in the near future? It’s impossible to say.
According to the French media, the talks so far between PSG sporting director Leonardo and Mbappé’s representatives have not gone quite as the French outfit would have liked.
Therefore, the club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi will be involved in the negotiations and will keep a close eye on all the events. After all, he himself said two weeks ago that Mbappé will never leave PSG, not even for free.
PSG is offering Mbappé a contract that will guarantee the 22-year-old striker €26 million a year for the next two to three years. But money is not the most important thing.
Mbappé has demanded that PSG bring in quality players to boost its chances of winning the Champions League, which still eludes the club.
The Parisian club has, on the whole, succeeded in fulfilling this demand. Gini Wijnaldum has already joined the club, while the arrivals of Achraf Hakimi and Gianluigi Donnarumma are expected to be officially confirmed soon.
According to L’Equipe, then, Mbappe was never interested in leaving PSG, but only in a stronger project. He is said not to be so much tempted by Real Madrid’s interest.
It is also believed that the clubs interested in acquiring Mbappé will not be able to pay the astronomical amount that PSG might demand. There is talk of a sum in excess of €150 million.
