Will Romelu Lukaku head to Roma? In the summer transfer window, the football world has been following the transfer saga surrounding Kylian Mbappé. However, the one concerning the Belgian striker is equally interesting.

First, he wanted to stay at Inter, who were trying to negotiate an extension of his loan spell with Chelsea. But the English club refused. The efforts of the Milanese big club then ended the moment the news leaked that Lukaku was linked with a move to one of their arch rivals – Juventus Turin.

But the Italian giant made no further progress after the first phase of negotiations with the London big club, and so another famous Italian club – AS Roma – came to the fore.

According to Italian media reports and renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Lukaku is currently the closest to a transfer to the Roman capital.

The first phase of negotiations between the two clubs turned out to be positive. In London, it was reportedly agreed that the two clubs are planning a loan deal, but without the mandatory option for a permanent transfer.

According to Calciomercato, Roma president Dan Friedkin flew to Brussels on Saturday evening to meet Lukaku and bring the deal to a successful conclusion. The Belgian is said to be willing to take a discount on his €8 million salary, with a €5 million guest appearance expected to cost the Giallorossi.

Lukaku at Inter…

The Antwerp native started 25 league games in an Inter jersey last season, scoring ten goals and assisting six more.

In addition, he added eight starts in the Champions League and four in the Coppa Italia. In both competitions combined, he collected four goals and one assist.
