- Bayer Leverkusen are likely to lose a key stopper
- Bayern have agreed a transfer fee with the German champions for Jonathan Taha
- But everything now depends on the departure of Dutch international Matthijs de Ligt
German magazine Kicker came out on Tuesday morning with the information that Jonathan Tah is likely to leave Bayer Leverkusen. The reigning German champion has reportedly agreed a transfer fee with Bayern after several negotiations and rejected offers.
According to the latest reports, the base amount is €25 million, plus another €5 million in bonuses. Contractually, everything is also supposed to be finalized, with the 28-year-old stopper himself showing great interest in a transfer to Bayern.
However, the main criterion for this transfer is the departure of Matthijs de Ligt. Once the Dutch international leaves Bayern, Tah may just move to the historically best German side.
Luckily for Tah, Manchester United are interested in De Ligt and both clubs are negotiating the transfer fee. Most recently, Bayern are demanding €50 million for De Ligt.
However, the famous English club does not agree with this price tag. However, in case of the Dutch international’s departure, the move is Bayern’s number 1 priority.
A move to Leverkusen
Tah came to Leverkusen in July 2015 from Hamburg for less than ten million euros. Over time, he has become a cornerstone of Bayer’s defence, with his biggest club success coming last season.
the 195 centimetres tall stopper helped Leverkusen to win the title and the DFB Pokal with his performances. He played 353 competitive matches for the German champions, scoring fourteen times and adding twelve assists.
