Will Khabib Nurmagomedov return? Dana White came up with another offer, but it wasn’t accepted
A large portion of MMA fans hope to see Khabib Nurmagomedov fight again. He’s on a 29-0 streak, but he’s unlikely to add a 30th fight. UFC President Dana White tried to persuade him, but mentioned that he was unsuccessful with the offer.
A large portion of MMA fans hope to see Khabib Nurmagomedov fight again. He’s on a 29-0 streak, but he’s not likely to add a 30th fight. UFC President Dana White tried to persuade him, but mentioned that he was unsuccessful with the offer.
Khabib Nurmagomedov’s last fight was in October 2020. Back then, he defeated Justin Gaethje and increased his perfect streak to 29: 0.
This led many to believe that he would show up one more time and round out his wins to 30::0, but that hasn’t happened and probably never will. This despite the fact that he is only 33 years old.
Proof can be found in his recent conversation with UFC President Dana White, which was not successful from a combat sports fan’s perspective.
“It’s true that I contacted Khabib recently and had an offer for him. What did he say to me? He said he’s retired and he’s really done. So I don’t think we’ll ever see Khabib back fighting in the future.
Because it wasn’t about me offering him an MMA fight. It was about something else. I suggested a grappling fight, but he just reaffirmed to me that he was done. I think it broke in him the moment his father died.
At that point, his career was basically over. He’s justfocusing on his charges now and trying to help them break into the MMA elite,” White told reporters.
As a result, Nurmagomedov seems intent on focusing solely on his Eagle FC organization, which continues to get more attention. In addition, he also coaches several fighters.
