Everton, currently 16th in the Premier League, is looking for a new manager to lead the club. Among the candidates are current AS Roma coach Jose Mourinho and two great English legends.
Everton had big plans when coached by Carlo Ancelotti. He started a big rebuild here but didn’t realise his plans as he moved to the bench of Real Madrid. Rafa Benítez took over the baton from him, but the Everton engagement didn’t work out at all.
Therefore, the team that plays at Goodison Park is currently without a head coach. However, it has several candidates for the position. Everton’s owner would prefer to hire Jose Mourinho, who coaches AS Roma.
Other alternatives for Everton’s head coach include two English legends. They are Frank Lampard and Wayne Rooney. However, Vitor Pereira, who was also interested in the position before the arrival of Ancelotti, is also very interested in the position, this coach coach coached, for example, Porto.
Mourinho has a lot of experience with the English Premier League. He has coached Chelsea twice, as well as Manchester United and Tottenham. He was most successful at Chelsea, with whom he won the league title three times.
The current Derby coach Wayne Rooney has a great connection with Everton, having worked at Everton before his involvement with Manchester United. For that reason, he would most likely accept the offer, even though he currently has a solid position at Derby.
Everton are at present in a terrible position, which the management really did not wish to be in before the start of the season. We shall see if the new coach can save the season at least in part.
