Rasmus Højlund could become one of Manchester United’s first summer signings, according to recent reports. The Red Devils have identified him as a priority for the upcoming transfer window and will reportedly send an official offer to Bergamo soon, with Atalanta valuing the Danish forward at €60 million.
Italian servers La Gazzetta dello Sport and Calciomercato have come out with the information in the last few dozen hours that Rasmus Højlund could be heading from Serie A to the Premier League.
According to these reports, Manchester United have reportedly made the 20-year-old Atalanta Bergamo striker one of their priorities for the summer transfer window and will reportedly send an official offer to the Italian outfit soon.
Højlund has a current market value of €35 million, according to Transfermarkt website, but Atalanta have reportedly set his price tag at €60 million.
And that is the amount the Red Devils are willing to pay. Moreover, the Copenhagen native recently signed a contract with the SEG agency, which also represents Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag. This could also be one of the hints how real this potential transfer is.
Of course, Manchester United executives have previously preferred Victor Osimhen from Napoli or Harry Kane from Tottenham. However, for both of the aforementioned, the price is set too high.
Adding to the credibility of these reports is the fact that also well-known Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has named Højlund as a summer target for Manchester United on his Twitter account. And he also mentioned a price tag of €60 million.
Højlund at Atalanta
The Danish playmaker only moved to Bergamo at the end of August last year. Prior to his move to Serie A, he was at Sturm Graz in Austria, from where Atalanta snapped him up for €17.2 million.
Højlund played 34 competitive games for the club, scoring ten goals and assisting four more.
