How has the fitness trainer’s life changed in six months? After his success in the reality show Love Island, the charismatic Kryštof Novák is not only enjoying his new relationship with the beautiful Denisa, he is also thriving professionally and in sport. A few months ago he had his first MMA fight and would like to appear in the cage again as soon as possible. When will that happen and what does Christopher have planned for the summer?
How are you doing, what’s new with you now?
I’m doing well! I’m really looking forward to the summer! At the moment, I’m spending most of my time with my girlfriend, my cats, work, and Instagram. Honestly, I’m doing well right now and I’m happy for that. I’m still finding that balance sometimes, but otherwise I think it’s good!
You recently had your first MMA fight. At Clash of the Stars you defeated Tomas Chlup in the main event. How do you evaluate your debut in retrospect?
I’m relatively positive about that fight. There are a few things I would have done differently, but at the end of the day, the result is always important and it was clear, a win for me. I’ve felt great about it ever since. I wish I could go back to the cage!
So, is there another match planned?
Definitely yes, it’s planned, but I don’t know who it should be with yet. I was looking to fight Datl (Marek Valasek), but he’s fighting for the title now, so I’ll have to wait to see how it goes there.
The way I see it, I’d like to have one more fight with someone, and then I’d like to challenge the current middleweight champion, up to 84 kilograms, and I don’t care who holds him at that moment.
How often do you do MMA now?
I’ve actually switched back to the gym and strength training for a while now, to get back to where I was at weight and have something to crash from going into the fight. Plus, my girlfriend and I have a vacation coming up, so now I have to step it up a bit so she’s not embarrassed for me on the beach. Anyway, I’ll be back to MMA again soon and I hope to have another opponent lined up soon as well.
You’re still working as a personal trainer at the gym, right? Even after your success in Love Island and MMA, how does that still fulfill you?
Yes, I’m still working as a fitness trainer. I enjoy it, I like the variety. But to be honest, with the summer, clients often cancel training sessions, so it’s quite scattered, which of course gets on my nerves(laughs)
You mentioned a holiday with your girlfriend Denisa. What else is waiting for you in the next few weeks?
Before the summer I’m going to shoot the new Gymio sportswear collection. This is the brand of my friend Martina Marková, for whom I am one of the faces. We’re flying as a big group to Croatia for a few days.
Along with Martina, my friend Denča will be there, but also Jakub Vitek and Radek Gabriel from Love Island, so we’ll go back in time and be with this bunch of us by the water again and we’ll definitely have fun, even though we’re all going there to work.
And then I have a bunch of other events and plans with my girlfriend, so I’m really looking forward to the summer and I believe it will all work out.
