This season, it has been rumored that Erling Haaland is a lab-created robot who is not afraid of any opponent. But the Norwegian super-scorer does have a weak spot – Bayern Munich.

The question was how Erling Haaland would fare after his move to Manchester City. While many believed he would continue to score goals like a treadmill, some were skeptical whether he would do as well in the Premier League as he did in the offensive Bundesliga.

Haaland, however, brushed aside any doubts. In 27 games he has netted 30 goals and added five assists, four goals in domestic cups and has scored ten goals in six Champions League duels.

In the Champions League eighth-finals, he had a taste of Leipzig, for whom he netted 5 goals in 60 minutes in the return leg. But in the quarter-finals, he’ll face his nightmare.

Manchester City will face Bayern Munich and Haaland may feel the same fear that opponents have when they see him in the line-up. It is, after all, the Norwegian striker’s least favourite opponent.

Haaland has played the most games against Bayern in his career (7), he hasn’t faced any opponent more times. He has played five times against the Bavarian side in the Bundesliga, twice in the Cup.

But not once did he beat Bayern and not even a draw. Haaland lost all seven games, each time in a Dortmund jersey.

On a personal level, however, he has been quite successful. He scored five goals in seven games for Bayern, only Leipzig (11), Sevilla (6) and Wolfsberger (6) scored more.

For Manchester City, the Champions League has become an absolute obsession. Winning the Eared Cup is the biggest goal of both the Qatari owners and Pep Guardiola. It is Haaland who is supposed to be the man to lead the Citizens to the denied title.

But he enters the duel against the least favourite opponent in good form. He has netted 11 goals in the last 4 games and is certainly not giving Bayern’s stoppers a sleep.
