Will Foden sit star De Bruyne? Experienced Belgian is not in ideal form, we don’t want goals from Doku
A comfortable win that Manchester City needed. The Citizens dismantled their opponents for the first time in a long time, as fans under Pep Guardiola are used to. Praise has been heaped on Jeremy Doku and Phil Foden in particular.

Manchester City started actively against Aston Villa and, apart from the passage around the conceded goal, managed to play the whole match at a high tempo. For the first time in a long time, it was the Citizens we are used to under Pep Guardiola.
Without De Bruyne, a better Manchester
In the latest installment of the What’s the Premier League about column, we broke down Kevin De Bruyne’s deteriorating form. On Wednesday, the Citizens jumped in without him, looked much better in the game and the player in his position netted three goals.
Kevin De Bruyne’s hat-trick. Player of the match, star Phil. And I wouldn’t forget Guardiola,” wrote Manchester fan Rodney in a liked comment on Instagram .
Phil Foden himself let it be known that centre midfield suits him best. Combined with the Belgian’s form, there is more room for the Englishman in the middle. Although, in the long term, rotating De Bruyne sounds like too much of a luxury.
Doku is an assistant
Discussions have also raged over the subject of Jeremy Doku. The Belgian winger has been far from his best in recent weeks, but moving to the right edge of the attack has clearly done him good. Two assists prove that this side suits him much better.
Needless to say, Doku came to Manchester City back in August last year, from Stade Rennes. However, he has not featured regularly in the opening eleven in the Premier League. So far, however, he has played in 22 games in which he has recorded a 2+6 record.
“Can Doku please stay on the right wing?” wrote a fan of May in a liked comment. And it’s true, because the Belgian doesn’t need a stronger leg in the middle of the pitch. He is on five goals and seven assists in the current season.
