Will Arteta replace Xavi as Barcelona coach? Certainly not yet, but it is a possibility
Despite the fact that Barcelona are full of injury problems, plus they are playing a pretty much renewed team, there is talk of Xavi’s failure so far. The results are certainly not that bad. Nevertheless, there is already talk in Spain about his successor, which could be Mikel Arteta, who is having a dream start with Arsenal.

Barcelona have invested huge amounts of money in new signings this summer, at the expense of future profits. However, the desired success is not forthcoming as the Catalan side, led by Xavi as coach, are chasing the dominant Real Madrid in La Liga and have been relegated from the Champions League to the Europa League.
Immediately, speculation began in Spain about a possible early departure of Xavi from Camp Nou. Sky Sports has come out with the information that if results don’t improve, the management will look elsewhere and they are already reportedly considering one name, which is Arteta.
Pep Guardiola’s pupil is now battling his charges at the top of the Premier League as Arsenal hold a two-point lead on second placed Manchester City, with only Manchester United and Southampton managing to slow them down so far.
Moreover, the Gunners are showing some nice football and their success is therefore not at all accidental. They are also doing well in the Europa League, where they are 100 percent except for one defeat to PSV.
If Arteta continues like this and his team’s performances are consistent, we can expect a lot of interest in the Spanish coach. However, he has a great project in London now, which he probably won’t want to get out of.
Even though they are not happy at Camp Nou with their Champions League exit, Barcelona are performing well in the Spanish top-flight, where apart from an opening draw with Vallecano right at the start of the season, Xavi’s charges have only lost to Real Madrid, away.
Now we will have a month’s break for the World Cup, after which the players will return to their clubs to resume the season in full swing. It will be a long one and at the end we can talk about a great success for Barcelona, who can win three more titles – La Liga, Europa League and Copa del Rey.
Only time will tell if Xavi can withstand the immense pressure that is being put on the Catalan club’s coach without exception. It remains to be seen whether Arteta can keep up the pace he has set with Arsenal. He has a number of hungry teams breathing down his neck, led by his former partner Guardiola.
