Will another English legend take over Rangers? Gerrard’s former partner could coach the Scottish side
Not so long ago, the legendary Steven Gerrard was in charge of Scottish club Rangers FC. Now his former England teammate and London Chelsea icon for a change could follow in his footsteps.

Rangers FC fans have had no reason to rejoice lately. For two years in a row they have had to watch their main and hated rival Celtic reign supreme in Scottish football. And that is set to change this season? So far, it doesn’t look like it.
After seven rounds in the Scottish league, Rangers have three defeats, and although they are third, they are seven points behind Celtic, which may already be an unbridgeable gap. They also failed to qualify for the Champions League, leaving only the Europa League for the Ibrox Park side.
Overall this season The Gers have a record of 14 competitive games, 8 wins, 2 draws and 4 losses. However, even the game was not ideal and the patience with coach Michael Beale has run out.
Beale, by the way, was Steven Gerrard’s assistant during his coaching stint at Ibrox. It was his second engagement as head coach, not entirely bad, but not good enough for Rangers.
Will Frank Lampard be the new coach?
What’s next for the club? Speculation has begun about an interesting name. Graham Potter, who last managed Chelsea, was first considered, but he reportedly turned down the offer. Now Pascal Jansen (AZ Alkmaar) or Philippe Clement (former Monaco coach) are on the shortlist.
But the biggest favourite, according to The Telegraph, is Chelsea legend Frank Lampard. He last took over Chelsea on a temporary basis, with whom he finished last season after failing to make the grade at Everton.
According to his latest words, Lampard is ready to return to the coaching chair. It is at Rangers that an ideal reboot could await him. The now 45-year-old coach has never made any secret of his closeness to the club.
In 2008, the Chelsea icon was among the fans at Manchester Stadium when Rangers played the UEFA Cup final against Zenit St Petersburg.
It is worth noting that on October 26, Rangers will arrive in Prague to face Sparta in the Europa League group stage. Will Lampard be there?
