Chelsea London is extremely active in the summer transfer window. Practically every day there are new speculations about what is happening at Stamford Bridge. A bunch of transfers have already been confirmed and more will not be long in coming. Who can Italian coach Enzo Maresca count on?

  • Chelsea are very active in the transfer market
  • It has brought in several goalkeepers and youngsters
  • Pedro Neto is among the biggest signings

Goalkeepers

Jorgensen, Petrovic, Sánchez, Kepa, Slonina, Bettineli, Penders, Bergstrom and Beach. It would seem that this is almost the entire starting lineup, but in Chelsea’s case it is only the goalkeepers. Take it with a pinch of salt though, the transfer window is not over yet and it’s clear that youngsters Gabriel Slonina and Eddie Beach are heading out on loan.

Moreover, the transfer of Mike Penders from Genk is not yet finalised, with Kepa probably not counted on much. However, the goalkeeping trio of Jorgensen, Petrovic and Sánchez will most likely be with the A team.

Defenders

Even in the case of the defensive ranks, Chelsea are thinking big about the future. Argentine talent Aaron Anselmino has arrived for €20 million, Adarabioyo, who defended Fulham colours last season, is moving to west London as a free agent. A big question mark remains over Reece James, who struggled with injuries for virtually all of last season and was also substituted in the preliminary game against Real Madrid due to muscle problems. He didn’t even start the match against Inter Milan.

Midfielders

In the midfield Chelsea can no longer rely on Conor Gallagher, who is apparently on his way to Atlético Madrid in Spain. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall or the young Portuguese Renato Veiga came as a replacement from Leicester. Ecuadorian Caicedo or Argentine Enzo remain in the team.

Cole Palmer, who scored 22 goals and 11 assists last season, will be a key figure, making him one of the best players of last season. Alongside him will be the offensive Frenchman Nkunku. He scored a total of 3 goals in the preliminary games and after last season, which was heavily affected by injury, expectations are high for him.

Strikers

In attack, the Blues can definitely lean on Senegalese spike striker Jackson. It was Jackson who scored 14 goals last year. His teammates will surely be the offensive wingers Mudryk and Sterling. The London club’s biggest ever signing is also heading to the attack. Pedro Neto arrived from Wolverhampton for 60 million euros.

Due to the collapse of the Omorodion transfer, there is also speculation about the return of Felix. Romelu Lukaku is also a subject of wider interest. There has also been speculation in the past about the arrival of Victor Osimhen from Naples

The transfer window is definitely not over yet, but Chelsea have already announced the arrivals of several interesting players. The goal is clear, to get back on the tail of the Premier League after the last few failed seasons! However, its transfers look very unconceptual and are not understood by football fans or many experts.
