Wiesner: We want to take three points from France. We’d have a lead and then we’d just have to keep it
Sparta entered the first match against Lyon with a great start and led 2:0 after two goals by Lukáš Haraslín. However, the French side then shifted into a higher gear and turned it around to 4:3. Despite this, Tomas Wiesner believes that Sparta can get three points in Lyon.

Sparta entered the Europa League with a goalless draw against Brondby, then went on to beat Rangers 1:0. Against Lyon, Sparta was looking for points in the first half, but the group leader smashed their chances in the second half.
However, the team is confident that they will learn from their mistakes and surprise their opponents. It will be an extremely difficult task, however, as Paquetá and co. have not lost at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais yet this season.
“It will be another tough game, but we are looking forward to it. We want to play a good game and take three points from France,” says Wiesner confidently to the club website.
The current situation in the table is as follows, first Lyon has 9 points, second Sparta 4. Rangers are third with 3 points, followed by Brondby with 1 point. If the Flyers could win in Lyon, it would be a huge boost and they would have everything in their hands.
“It would be great if we could take three points, I believe so. In that case it would be very important, we would be in second place and the last two games would be taken care of,” Wiesner encourages his teammates.
In case Sparta fails to beat Lyon, they will look to the result of the second match. If Rangers were to win it again and Sparta were to lose to their Scottish rivals, it would mean the end of their Europa League promotion hopes.
