Manchester City refused to pay anything for the Portuguese Juventus star. He met virtually no conditions. “Manchester United has behaved differently, as a club with tradition,” Federuco Cherubini was quoted as saying in an interview with Tuttosport.

However, Juventus’ sports coordinator also complained about the way Ronaldo communicated with the Turin outfit. A break-up was reportedly the only option that came into consideration because of this.

“We respect Ronaldo, but I share the same opinion as the president. The history of Juventus is made up of great champions, coaches, directors. But the club must come first,” Cherubini added.
