Why did Šilhavy pull the Lions into the A-team? The national team manager described the deal, the players shouldn’t miss the Euros
Coach Jaroslav Šilhavý, after long complaints from the fans, chose a line-up for the March meeting that matches their ideas. He has included young players in the team, but even this has some negatives. He took them away from the Lions, who will face the Euros in the summer. What is the agreement between the coaches?

When coach Jan Suchopárek announced his U21 national team nomination, many were positively surprised. Some of the mainstays were missing, which meant only one thing.
Tomáš Čvančara with Martin Vitík from Sparta and David and Matěj Jurásková from Slavia are part of coach Jaroslav Šilhavy’s selection in the start of the Euro 2024 qualifiers.
This time, he seems to have taken to heart the opinions of some experts and the majority of fans who have long disliked the nomination, as it often did not reflect the current form of the players.
But even now we can find some negatives in the nomination. From one point of view, it is the aforementioned four who would otherwise have had another opportunity to play with their team before the U21 European Championship.
Also with regard to this tournament, friendly matches against the Netherlands and Belgium are scheduled. However, the agreement between the coaches was clear Mr. Suchopárek will at least see other players in action.
“We know that the U21s will be at the European Championships in June and we definitely want them to succeed at the tournament. However, for the March meeting, we have agreed with coach Jan Suchopárek and his implementation team that these four players will travel with the A-team, which will have a sharp start to the qualification, while the U21s have preparatory matches on their schedule.
As far as the U21 championship in June is concerned, we will cooperate and communicate so that both teams are as strong as possible. After all, the nomination of these players is an honour also for the U21 team, who deserve thanks for their friendly negotiations,” said the national team manager Tomáš Pešír at the press conference.
His words more or less confirm that the mentioned four will travel to the U21 European Championship, or at least most of them. The A-team is playing its pre-tournament matches, plus a qualifying match with Faroe Islands and then a friendly match with Montenegro. Hopefully coach Šilhavý will not block the mainstays for these matches before the tournament.
