Conor McGregor is still recovering from his injury, according to his words he will be ready to return to full training in April. So in about six months he could be back in the cage in no time. But against whom? His coach has revealed a few options.

Journalist Ariel Helwani enlisted the Irish star’s head coach John Kavanagh for the latest episode of the MMA Hour. He revealed several names that Conor McGregor could face in his next fight.

First and foremost, he mentioned the name of Nate Diaz, with whom McGregor has a 1:1 record. The completion of the trilogy is something that would no doubt be welcomed by the fans as Diaz can be dangerous for anyone.

“I’ll be honest, it’s very tempting. It’s a fight that gives me nightmares. Diaz never stops coming forward, whether in the third or fifth round. It’s definitely a very interesting possibility,” Kavanagh let slip.

However, he could also imagine a fight with the legendary Tony Ferguson, who unfortunately McGregor has never met, although there has been much talk about this fight in the past.

“The lightweight division is extremely crowded. There’s also Dan Hooker, a fight with Islam Makhachev would also be great for obvious reasons. On Saturday, Charles Oliveira and Dustin Poirer face off for the title. Conor can face anyone,” added the Irishman’s coach.

Michael Chandler, who recently had a terrific shootout with Justin Gaethje but lost on points, has been making a strong case for a fight with McGregor. Perhaps the aforementioned Gaethje could be in the fight as well. There are several possibilities

Kavanagh, however, said that he is mostly excited about his charge getting his act together and starting to train.
