Although the legendary Frank de Boer’s team lost their biggest star Virgil Van Dijk due to injury, they still have a lot to offer. The team is adorned with great speed in transition, deadly breakout situations, but also great quality in offense.

Memphis Depay

The 27-year-old forward has caught great form at the championship, with 2 goals and 2 assists. He is a very complex forward, he can both score and set up goals, so he is constantly dangerous for the defense.

He has a great technique, and he is not lagging behind in speed. It suits him to work with the second striker Weghorst, the stocky hitter will take most of the fights and Depay can concentrate on playing with the ball. Soucek and Holeš will have to help the stoppers tremendously in these situations.

Georginio Wijnaldum

While he was often criticized at Liverpool during the season, he is a completely different player since donning the Oranjes jersey. He is a leader in the central formation, he can help the defence and complement the attack. He also helped the team with three goals, and had or set up several other chances.

Again, it will be a big test for the central midfielders, in this case it will probably come down to Vladimir Darida. He is very unpredictable, so even if the situation looks uninteresting, Wijnaldum can make something out of it.

Denzel Dumfries

He was literally flying at right halfback in the starting lineup. The 5-3-2 formation is tailor-made for him, so he has the whole line to himself. He supports the offensive line well, scoring 2 goals and getting a lot of chances.

After the championship he will probably be transferred from PSV to one of the top leagues. He’s fast, strong and has a very good jump. It will be a test of fire for the new left-back (probably Pavel Kadeřábek), Jakub Jankto will have to help him a lot.

The former Ajax duo of Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt also put in very good performances. The Dutch have a very good team that they believe could go far. Can the Czechs stop Frank de Boer’s machine?
