The ATP 1000 tennis tournament in Toronto got underway on Monday afternoon. The hard surface in Canada will host most of the world’s top players. Who will enjoy the overall triumph?

The number one seed in the tournament is Daniil Medvedev, whose Olympic Games did not go well at all. However, he has been doing very well on the hard surface for a long time and could go very far.

On the other side of the leaderboard we find Rafael Nadal, who has dominated the last two editions of this event. A week ago in Washington, however, he crashed out in the eighth round against Harris, who will be waiting for him in the second round.

The role of the tournament’s number three will be played by Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas. After a great start to the 2021 season, he has lost his form and has won only three of his last six matches. But now he has the perfect opportunity to show his strengths again.

The fourth seed is Russian Andrey Rublev. He has won a total of seven tournaments on the ATP circuit in 2019, six of which have been on hard surfaces. If he does well, he should make it through to the semifinals.

Other stars of the event in Toronto, Canada, include Denis Shapovalov, Hubert Hurkacz, Roberto Bautista-Agut and Casper Ruud. The dark horse could be Aslan Karatsev, the comet of the current season.

So tennis fans definitely have something to look forward to. The winner of the tournament, which you can watch on Eurosport 2, will receive almost ten million Czech crowns.
