Which team in the Premier League pays its players the most? Here are the payrolls of all 20 clubs, the difference between first and last is huge
The Premier League is by far the richest league in Europe, and if it weren’t for the recent actions of Saudi Arabia, it would certainly still be perceived as such globally. Clubs in the English competition spend a lot of money on transfers, and the same is often true of wages. What are the payrolls of all the teams?

The world’s most watched football competition is still basking in the limelight. The Premier League has many fans around the world and generates big profits, which means that clubs there can spend big.
It is not at all uncommon to see stars from the top clubs in the rest of Europe’s top leagues transferring to mediocre clubs in England’s top league. Yet it cannot be said that all clubs in it are rich.
After all, this is disproved by Sun Sport’s ranking of the payrolls of all 20 participants in the current Premier League season. The difference between first and last is incredibly abysmal.
If we look at the table of the popular competition, we find that after eight rounds Tottenham is in the lead (20 points), chasing Arsenal with the same points. Meanwhile, Spurs have the seventh highest payroll according to the rankings, while the Gunners hold the third place.
Newcomer Luton Town, who pay their players sovereignly the least, proves that they will fight to stay among the elite, which they are managing so far, being in 17th position.
Manchester United, who have had a poor start to the season, pay the highest wages to their players. They are right in the middle of the Premier League table with 12 points, and the club is not doing well in the Champions League either.
While Manchester United pays out £201 million to its players, Luton has a payroll outlay of just £3.66 million.
Premier League ranking by wage bill
Looking at the rankings, it’s clear that Brighton, who tend to be described by some experts as the best run club in the world, now deserves a little more recognition. They are doing an incredible job with minimal funds.
It is also great news that Newcastle are almost at the bottom of the top half of the table. When this traditional Premier League club was taken over by wealthy owners, there were fears that the Magpies would become another PSG. Surprisingly, however, Aston Villa are ranked high.
